WATER DAMAGE ! Yup its BAD folks Comic Book Pressing Tales To Astonish #44

I'd like to start tonight by thanking +Marq Romero for this Submission ... What a great Learning tool for you and ME on Water Damaged Books. About 95% of the Waves / Wrinkles came out after 1 press , along with the first and last interior page damage. The whole book was like this and the cover already has marvel chipping around the edges so we decided to not expose this book to any more and leave the rest of the interior alone. Which is the wise choice in this situation , we already added so much value to the book that anyone buying this is just looking for a nice presenting low grade copy and this would fit the bill for sure.

So to answer your questions on " Can water damage be fixed ?" here ya go , buying the right book with little staining can net a great result... this book does have the major staining especially on the back but man does it show well now , at least on the front cover.

Well Pictures tell more than words ... here's the damage ... and the Magic. Enjoy

as always don't be afraid to contact me with any questions asebullion@mail.com
Thanks again Marq and have a great night !

Spine Roll Fix ! Part 2

Roll gone .. no shadow what so-ever. Yeah the spine was rough to begin with but id say overall with the press the book jumped a full grade along with the rest of the fixes to the cover.

UP next maybe this weekend we will look at a WATER Damaged book and see what we can fix and not fix. Thanks to +Marq Romero

Great Example of another Press-able defect ! Spine Roll

Got this book in from a large lot of great books from my man Larry ... This is such a great example of spine roll and a great example of a press-able defect.

This type of defect happens when books are stack on top of each-other for a long period of time and when books are uneven in the the box stored without cardboard backers and the weight of the stack sits against other books in the back of the box.

Tune in SUN. to see if this was corrected / or was it just to far bent ?

Thanks for the look guys and gals ! and as always any questions about my service don't hesitate to email me at asebullion@gmail.com

Tales of Suspense #59 Pre-press / Post Press Great Example of Press-able Defects!

Tonight we got a book in that is just a great example of things that can be fixed with a nice press. This copy of ToS #59 has a lot of waves, dings , dents and ticks.

All the Waves GONE in top 1/3rd of book ! Along with all the nasty crinkled comic along the spine.

This book jumped like 1.0 to 1.5 grade bump with the press and was a great candidate to show what can be fixed with a press.

Afterlife with Archie ... Investment ?!?

AFTERLIFE WITH ARCHIE #1 NYCC "HELP WANTED! ZOMBIES" cosplay variant. Limited 200 print run.

I don't usually say in the same breath Investment and "Modern" age book ... but this book with its limited Run of 200 and the popularity of the series = a winner even 10 years from now. Archie Comics have been around so long and even with his death coming up will go on. This series revived the Archie name and i feel this is the book to own, and in my opinion its a steal at its current prices.
Still thanking my gut when i bought this copy for $40 when they first hit ebay.. with the cheapest graded out at 9.0 is at $299 and a NM at $350 ... I think this book could hit $800-$1000 in NM being the most sought after variant.

Thanks for the Read as always !

Revival / Chew Shipping Damage Fix Great example of what can/can't be fixed

So ... This came in to me like this from an online comic retailer ...

UGG ... Not my Tony Chu / Revival cover !!! Crushed Corner in shipping as you can see pretty dinged ... however there is a small color break just down a bit from the corner that we wont be able to fix.
Lets see what happened ...

Well that's a lot better ! but as you can see the color break remains ... ugg not much your can do about that besides a grey sharpie :P jk , never use sharpies on your cover that's a bad day at CGC
